From launching kites off the boat – a skill I’m still mastering with assistance – to the thrill of finding new kitesurfing havens, every moment was a blend of excitement and discovery.
I absolutely loved Union Island’s diverse kitesurfing scenes. We visited the JP Pro Center and spent a day there with a crowd from all over the world to go kitesurfing and chill at the island. Those were the best days of my trip – kitesurfing at Frigate Island’s clear waters, where I learned to go upwind. So proud of myself! It wasn’t just about kitesurfing; we immersed ourselves in the local culture, with stories like Happy Island’s unique history captivating us. We ventured beyond the usual spots, exploring the untouched beauty of Tobago Cays. And let’s not forget the magical snorkeling at Tobago Cays, where we swam alongside turtles and marveled at the filming locations of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ at Petit Tabac.
My role as a yoga instructor came into play, offering daily sessions that perfectly complemented our high-energy kitesurfing. These moments of zen balanced our physical exertions, connecting us deeper to the breathtaking surroundings.
